Step 1. Click the "Messages" symbol on your Facebook homepage. The Messages icon is located in the top left edge and resembles 2 tiny overlapping speech bubbles.

Step 2. Click the discussion consisting of the message or messages you want to erase. If it is not detailed on the initial Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to check out all of your private messages. Click the conversation on that particular checklist containing the message you intend to remove.

Step 3. Click the "Actions" switch and afterwards click "Delete Messages" on the Actions drop-down menu.

Step 4. Click the check boxes located beside the messages you wish to remove.

Click "Delete" and then click "Delete Messages" to validate that you intend to remove the selected messages.

Idea
To erase an entire discussion instead of specific messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions food selection in the third step.

Warning
Erasing a personal message in your Messages inbox does not remove it from the inbox of your discussion partner.
